Code of Conduct
Anjiro Initiative is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that collaborates with families and schools in the community of Anjiro, as well as other areas in Madagascar, to provide scholarships for youth and support for schools. The activities of our local leaders and their relationships with the people and community of Anjiro are crucial to our success.
We are committed to fair and ethical practices. Board members, officers, staff, agents, and representatives of Anjiro Initiative are expected to act with fairness, respect, honesty, integrity, and transparency in all their dealings with each other and as representatives of the organization, and must adhere to our Code of Conduct. Any such person who violates the Code is subject to discipline, up to and including removal from the program.
The following behaviors are prohibited:
Misrepresentation in financial reporting
Forging or misrepresentation of documents, signatures, receipts, or engaging in other fraudulent activities
Use of abusive language towards another staff member, volunteer, student, or other participant
Verbal, sexual, physical, or visual harassment of another staff member, volunteer, student, or other participant
Actual or threatened violence towards any individual or group
Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any staff member, volunteer, student, or other participant
Failure to comply with Anjiro Initiative policy or procedure
Non-compliance with applicable laws, including those relating to human trafficking
Failure to disclose a real or potential conflict of interest
